1. Do I need to hire a lawyer?

2. Do I have to pay an attorney up front?

No.  Halley Talbot & Smithton handle personal injury and workers’ compensation claims on a contingency basis.  This means the firm will represent you and work your claim without any money from you out of pocket.  Any costs associated with pursuing your claim will be advanced and deducted from a successful recovery as will any agreed to attorney fees.  If we do not obtain a recovery for you, you will not owe us any money including any costs incurred.
